Peace Of Mind
The wealth, comforts, and status in Society give pleasure and fame in life. But the gain of all these physical achievements in life cannot give satisfaction, and one goes on struggling for more and more in those matters. The material achievements in life increase the urge, which becomes limitless. It ultimately kills one's peace of mind, which brings unhappiness to life. What is the use of such achievements if they do not offer happiness?
History reflects that great conquerors were found very miserable after their victories. Pandavas, after their victory in the Mahabharata, were not happy. They were not satisfied and repented for killing their Elders, Guru, and Relatives. Lord Krishna advised them to leave all physical achievement and to go to the Himalayas in search of a peaceful mind, which can give them happiness.
The world conqueror, Alexzadar the Great, who won the great wars, was not happy when dying. He was not happy because he could not take those physical achievements with him on his death. In short, he had limitless desires that couldn't make him happy. He told his people that after my death, I should be taken in a coffin, where both my hands should be shown empty, showing that I am going empty-handed. This was his sign of unhappiness in spite of physical achievements.
All these show that physical achievements do not give peace of mind and happiness. Therefore, it seems that
all physical achievements have nothing to do with peace of mind. Then, how to get satisfaction in life and peace of mind
It appears that physical achievements are being achieved due to good work and efforts made by one in this life or in a previous life. However for peace of mind and happiness one has to surrender himself to God by praying and chanting pious mantras.
In short physical achievements should not be taken as God blessed things but peace of mind can be achieved only through God blessing. God showers on one peace of mind and happines if one chant Thy name sincerly leaving all worldly things.
