Longevity and Healthcare
It has been observed that, over the last century, the longevity of human populations in developing countries has increased by approximately 30 years. i.e., from 50 to 80 years. It may be due to Vaccines, Good Sanitation, Antibiotic Medicines, and improved Healthcare. The infectious diseases in children are also reduced due to the development of anti-infection drugs.
However long lives have not brought a disease-free life. Sometimes long life is painful with a long list of disabilities and diseases like Alzheimer's. In short long life does not go with healthy life. That issue has to be tackled by healthcare people.
The World Health Organization says people who live up to 80 can even face serious diseases at the age of 63 means to live another 15 years with sickness. i.e. 20 % of life to be lived in sickness. It is because Healthcare has focused on individual diseases which can increase longevity but may not help health conditions.
It is now approach to see that a healthy life is being looked after instead of extending only with a long span of life.
There is a way to extend good health is to keep a check on Blood Pressure, Cholesterol Levels, Body Fat Percentage, Body Mass, and Bone Density. Besides that, four factors are to be taken Care Of. i.e. Eating Nutritious Food, Good Sleep, Physical Exercise, and Social Connection.
In short long life may carry a painful period if one is deprived of a Healthy and Happy life.
